How to Plan and Pack for a Road Trip

Road trips are arguably one of the best ways to travel. Unlike flying on a plane, you’re able to see the countryside, and make pitstops as you see fit, providing you with plenty of photo ops!

So before you hit the dusty trail, keep these tips in mind as you prepare for your summer getaway:

  1. When packing clothes for any trip, the key is to roll and not fold. Rolling will help prevent wrinkles and offer a bit more space than folding does.
  2. Stuff your shoes with small items, such as chargers and underwear.
  3. Pack snacks for your car ride, because meals on the road can get expensive fast.
  4. Consider traveling to a National Park during the last week of August for big savings. They’re offering free admission.

How to Grill the Perfect Hot Dog

How to grill the perfect hot dog

When summer rolls around, one of the things that many people crave is a delicious hot dog. However, not any hot dog will do. You want the perfect summer staple food fresh off the grill. Of course, in order to get that delicious and delectable hot dog you’ve been craving, you need to learn how to grill the perfect hot dog. Get to know some of the steps that you can take to make yourself the perfect grilled hot dog.

The first key in grilling the perfect hot dog is choosing 100% beef hot dogs. All beef dogs are the most flavorful and hold up to seasoning the best. Once you are ready to grill those dogs, you want to avoid grilling your hot dogs over high heat.

High heat will burn and char the outside of the hot dog and leave the center icy cold, leading to an unpleasant dining experience. Instead use medium heat. This may take more time, but allow you to get that nice crispy skin on the outside and hot and juicy on the inside.

Finally, you cannot just put the dogs on the grill and leave then unattended. Continuous turning and rotating will ensure an even grill on your hot dog and will prevent one side from getting done and the other still being cold and plain.

By following these simple tips, you will surely impress yourself as well as family and friends next time you have a fun summer BBQ.
