Sometimes you just need to let your hair down, and let someone else do the driving… or in this case, navigating. Head down to the Fillmore and Western Railway for a scenic train ride, not far from your Palmdale apartment.

You will be transported back in time as you step aboard the 1930’s vintage dining and passenger cars. The train winds through century old citrus and avocado groves in the beautiful Heritage Valley.

With a layover of approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, the train will then continue on before stopping at the Loose Caboose Garden Center and Gift Emporium

How to Ensure You Get Your Security Deposit Back

Apartment living can be great, so long as you respect your landlords rules. Whether you’re just settling into your new apartment in Palmdale, or getting ready to move, these tips will help ensure you get your security deposit back, or at the very least understand why you aren’t.

  1. Read your lease carefully to ensure that you aren’t breaking any rules, or in something seems unreasonable, ask to change or alter a clause prior to signing it.
  2. Document everything upon moving in by taking notes and pictures. Then give this list to your landlord to sign and keep for your records.
  3. Keep it clean by removing any stains before they set, and contacting your landlord regarding any normal wear and tear immediately.
  4. Upon moving out, clean again. You don’t want to be charged for any trash that is strewn about, or an excessive number of nail holes.
  5. Be sure you understand your rights as a renter, as the landlord is required by law to give you a written account of charges accrued.

Enjoy a Trejo Taco near your Palmdale Apartment

Are you a fan of tacos? What about Danny Trejo?

If you answered “yes” to one or both of those questions, Trejo’s Tacos is for you!

Actor Danny Trejo has decided to embark on a new journey as he opens Trejo’s Tacos, a taco restaurant that will feature only the freshest ingredients.

You can expect to feast on meaty tacos and quesadillas, and for our vegetarian friends, they can enjoy fried avocado and black pepper tofu tacos.

Wash it down with seasonal aguas frescas, date-sweetened horchata, or Trejo’s own Cerveza, brewed in the downtown Arts District. And be sure to stay tuned for ice cream sandwiches as well!

Trejo’s Tacos will have their soft opening next week, so be sure to follow their Instagram and Twitter account for more details.

As for the leftovers generated by the restaurant, they will all be donated to a local homeless shelter.
